Brilliant move by Labor to oust Rudd. They’ve got the election in the bag.
Liberals need to really clean house and bring in alot of new blood if they have any hope in the next election in 2013-4?
The team doesn’t seem cohesive at all. I’m a fence sitter and atm labor have my vote. Liberals haven’t done enough to persuade me they have what it takes i’m afraid.

The Libs _may_ have made a major mistake selecting Tony Abbott.
I know may Liberal women (oops, I’ll rephrase that)… I mean swinging voters (no better, sorry)… I mean women who lean to the right, who would never put Abbott into power, given some of his past, vociferously-argued views.

Now, I know some may not approve of Hockey or Turnbull, but I’d argue that neither has the hate-following Abbott has managed to attract over the years.

Humourous to have an Abbott and a Bishop opposing a self-proclaimed atheist, but politics is a pretty funny science in Australia…. .

They’re all shockers though -- Julia wants to give people money to buy cars. Tony wants to give people more money to breed.

The one good thing I can see coming from it is that one of them is going to lose. Shame about the other one though …

I am not sure why women would dislike Abbott to be honest. He is a happily married man with three daughters so I would gather he is probably more in touch with females than most of us.

That may, in fact, be a major concern, especially in regard to mining taxes. Could affect the vote in WA and QLD.

Have to admit that the cash-for-clunkers* proposal (despite its considerable downside as indicated in the US) might be some compensation. Subaru will give me $2K off for cash on the new turbo-charged Forrester diesel. Jules will give me another $2K.
10% discount!~

Maybe she clued into the HBG idea!

* Wonder if the clunker cash might apply to a ratbike?
Trade for the new Multistrada 1200, maybe?

Didn’t we have this at the 2020 summit and the Copenhagen conference?

Ned we seem to have the world worst ex-leaders. In the US ex-president remain largely far for the maddening crowd, but in Oz our ex-PM’s seem to get stranger when they leave office. Even in the UK ex-PM’s seem to keep their dignity and don’t cry like spoiled schoolboys when things don’t go their way.

Anyway let’s see how Gillard handles the election campaign. What we need to see is how she handles pressure. I wonder if she is as cool as the media likes to tell us she is?

Witness the yarn about the Lone Ranger and Tonto being surrounded by Indians with the paleface saying “We can make it though my red brother” -- To which Tonto replied “Whatcha mean ‘we’ white man?” With Ms Gillard having given Mr Rudd a very recent object lesson re same!
