Living in Southern Cross Gardens (Neutral Bay)

As with any apartment complex, there are some things that all residents are asked to pay attention to so that our surroundings and kept clean, the security of the complex is maintained and we do not disturb our neighbours.

Please pay attention to the areas highlighted below and help make living in Southern Cross Gardens enjoyable for all.

Visitor Parking

There are a number of parking spaces available for short term visitors in the complex. These visitor parking spaces are not to be used an an extra parking space for any one unit or for long term use without first getting permission from the Owners Corporation.

There have been cases in the past for example, where people have invited friends to park their car in the visitor parking area when they went on an overseas trip for several weeks. Clearly this does not show much respect for the other residents!! Please remember the visitors parking spaces are intended for short term use only and if you need to use a particular space for longer than a few days, please speak to a committee member.

Security

We all need to pay some attention to ensure we keep our apartment complex as secure as possible. Please do not leave security doors propped open and never leave the side entrance gate (at the main carpark entrance) open longer than is needed. There have been cases where unauthorized persons have been able to gain access to the carpark and this has resulted in some minor theft.

Garbage Collection

Residents are asked to be "reasonable" when it comes to putting out rubbish in the garbage rooms. North Sydney Council run a number of clean-up days for the removal of large items of rubbish etc. and residents are asked to use this service as needed. The garbage rooms are not to be used as a place to dump large amounts of rubbish.

Noise

Finally, please keep in mind that we all live fairly close together and we need to be mindful of what noise we cause. In particular due to the solid concrete construction of the units, noise from power tools, slamming doors etc. tends to travel some distance. Work that will create noise for your neighbours may only be carried out between 07.30am and 5.00pm Mon-Fri (excluding public holidays).

All residents and owners are also requested to give at least 48 hours notice to their neighbours before any event that is likely to cause a distrubance. Putting a note on the stairwell doors and main noticeboard is one way to inform your neighbors of any planned work etc.
